Paul J. Kurtzhall joined The Ryan Firm in February of 2024. He brings with him a global perspective and a strong commitment to excellence, fairness, and integrity which drive him in all his endeavors. Mr. Kurtzhall has over 15 years of civil litigation experience focusing on state and federal litigation. He has a history of successfully handling cases at all stages of litigation, including mediation, arbitration and trial. Mr. Kurtzhall also adeptly identifies opportunities to resolve cases by way of settlement when it is most cost effective and appropriate.

 

As a civil litigator and appellate lawyer, Mr. Kurtzhall has worked on civil litigation cases across the spectrum involving real estate disputes, creditor representation, employment, and business law. Throughout his legal career, Mr. Kurtzhall has represented a wide range of clients such as business brokers, major apparel brands, large international corporations, manufacturing companies, and law firms.

 

Mr. Kurtzhall graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and received his Juris Doctor from Pacific West College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Kurtzhall participated in international criminal and civil rights programs at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands which involved studying at the International Criminal Court at The Hague during Slobodan Milosevic’s trial for war crimes. Mr. Kurtzhall also held a prestigious externship at the Gang Unit of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office where he actively assisted gang suppression officers and district attorneys in the investigation, compilation and prosecution of gang related felonies and capital murder cases.

 

In his free time, Mr. Kurtzhall cherishes the precious time with his wife, April, and their 4 children, who are growing up way too fast.
