William M. Brockschmidt
William M. Brockschmidt joined The Ryan Firm in November of 2023. Mr. Brockschmidt has practiced litigation for more than twenty-five years and has litigated matters arising in a wide variety of contexts, including investor and partnership disputes, contract disputes, fraud claims, securities matters, sales practices claims, trust disputes, class action defense, employment disputes, construction defect matters, and all species of real estate disputes.
Mr. Brockschmidt began his career representing institutional clients at national law firms (Pillsbury Madison & Sutro and Proskauer Rose) and then worked at several boutique litigation firms. Mr. Brockschmidt also served as the in-house counsel for one of California’s largest solar companies, which grew from approximately forty employees to over one hundred and eighty during his tenure.
Mr. Brockschmidt seeks to employ a cost-effective and “no nonsense” approach when counseling clients and litigating disputes, and believes that his diverse experience (on both the plaintiff and defense sides) enhances his ability to identify the key issues in a case and formulate the best strategy moving forward.
Mr. Brockschmidt received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he was an editor of the Law Review and was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship for his academic performance.
Outside of the office, Mr. Brockschmidt enjoys playing golf (poorly) and the guitar and piano (even more poorly), and spending time with his wife and their two sons.
