Matthew H. Aguirre re-joined The Ryan Firm in 2023 and primarily focuses his practice on mortgage, real estate, and business litigation.  He always seeks the best result at the lowest possible expense for his clients in litigation throughout California.

Mr. Aguirre is experienced in a wide range of civil litigation at the trial and appellate level, including individual and class action cases, and has represented clients in bankruptcy matters, as well as in alternative dispute resolution such as mediation and arbitration.  Mr. Aguirre’s background has taught him to pursue aggressive but smart litigation tactics and to recognize settlement opportunity where appropriate.  He knows how to present issues in a manner that allows judges to exert minimal effort to rule in his clients’ favor.

A believer in making the law accessible, Mr. Aguirre communicates openly with clients and presents complex legal issues in plain English.  He has spoken at industry events and developed legal training courses for people of all levels of legal familiarity.

Prior to re-joining The Ryan Firm, Mr. Aguirre litigated residential and commercial lending disputes, title curative actions, usury allegations, and real estate lawsuits.  He also had a hand in spearheading a legal compliance team which advised mortgage servicers, lenders, and foreclosure trustees across eight states.  Mr. Aguirre has consulted for nationwide enterprises and developed legal resources in partnership with the California Continuing Education of the Bar.

Mr. Aguirre received his law degree from the University of Colorado and his undergraduate degree from San Diego State University.  He is licensed to practice in every State and Federal Court in California.

When he’s not litigating, Mr. Aguirre spends his spare time with his wife and daughter.  A native San Diegan, he enjoys watching his hometown Padres squander their talent.
